Job Description: The Financial Analyst supports a distribution company specializing in purchasing, warehousing, and distributing dry food products to supermarkets. This role provides financial visibility into sales operations, warehouse processes, distribution logistics, and merchandising activities. Responsibilities include reporting, forecasting, margin analysis, pricing evaluation, and delivering data-driven insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency throughout the distribution cycle. Work Arrangement: Remote Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST Responsibilities: • Prepare, maintain, and analyze weekly and monthly financial reports on sales performance, gross margins, operating expenses, logistics costs, and inventory. • Conduct profitability analyses by customer, product category, and region. • Monitor inventory levels, turnover, discrepancies, aging, shrinkage, and COGS accuracy to support warehouse and accounting teams. • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including scenario modeling and variance analysis. • Evaluate pricing, promotions, and merchandising costs to optimize margins. • Collect, clean, and analyze data from sales representatives, warehouse operations, and back-office teams to develop actionable insights. • Support month-end close processes including reconciliations and management reporting. • Create and maintain dashboards and KPIs for leadership. • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements. • Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, and Accounting departments. • Perform ad hoc financial and operational analyses as requested. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Analysis or FP&A; candidates with 3 years experience in distribution, logistics, or CPG industries will also be considered. • Strong analytical skills to translate operational data into financial insights. • Experience with QuickBooks for financial reporting, transaction review, and data extraction; ability to reconcile data across QuickBooks sales, expenses, and inventory modules is a plus. • Knowledge of inventory, COGS, margins, and financial drivers. • Excellent communication skills with cross-functional teams. • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. • Fluency in English and Spanish required. Preferred Candidate Attributes: • Ability to link financial analysis with operational workflows (sales reps, warehouse, distribution, merchandising). • Experience in distribution, logistics, retail, or CPG with high SKU volume and multi-location operations. • Strong inventory, COGS, and margin analysis skills. • Effective communication for diverse stakeholders including leadership. • Demonstrates ownership, autonomy, and problem-solving skills with limited supervision.
